The Kirkton Branch is part of the South Team of branches that also include Hensall and Exeter. The library was first opened in 1913 and was initiated through fundraising by The Women’s Institute. From 1927 to 1973, the library was located on part of lot #9 – a property that was purchased by the Library Board. In 1973, the library moved into its current location in the Kirkton-Woodham Community Centre in the Municipality of South Huron.
