Film Screening: The Librarians – Huron County Museum

In honour of Pride, the Huron County Library & Huron County Museum are partnering for a FREE screening of The Librarians, a new feature documentary from Academy Award nominee and Peabody Award winner Kim A. Snyder.

We received rave reviews when The Librarians was originally screened at the Museum in February, so we are bringing it back for one more show.

The film will be introduced by members of Huron County Pride.

About the film: In Texas, the Krause List targets 850 books focused on race and LGBTQia+ stories – triggering sweeping book bans across the U.S. at an unprecedented rate. As tensions escalate, librarians connect the dots from heated school and library board meetings nationwide to lay bare the underpinnings of extremism fueling the censorship efforts. Despite facing harassment, threats, and laws aimed at criminalizing their work – the librarians’ rallying cry for freedom to read is a chilling cautionary tale.

Screenings will be held at the Huron County Museum, 110 North St., Goderich

Registration not required. Please note, though, that seating is available in the Museum theatre on a first-come basis.
